On this expertly guided tour walking around the bustling, colourful streets of Galway City, we visit five specially selected taverns, each with its own unique char, to discover and sample the best that Irish Whiskey has to offer. Starting in O’Connell’s pub on Galway city’s central Eyre Square, we then walk down famous Shop Street and onto specally selected Galway City pubs, learning and appreciating more about this proudly Irish spirit as we go.
Our guide will meet you outside O.Connells pub, this will be the first pub we visit. Located on famous Eyre Square in the centre of Galway city. The plot of land that became Eyre Square was officially presented to the city in 1710 by Mayor Edward Eyre, from whom it took its name. In 1801, General Meyrick erected a stone wall around the square, which was later known as Meyrick Square

Shop Street, is the main shopping street of Galway City.. There are brightly coloured storefronts, pubs and well preserved brick buildings. Lynch’s famous 16th century Castle is on Shop Street.
The street is crowded with shoppers, dancers, musicians, tourists and performers. The area has a bohemian atmosphere. There are old family retailers, chain stores, places to get one’s face painted, human statues are not hard to find.

Often referred to as the cultural heart of the city, it’s home to many of the city’s family run shops, pubs, restaurants and hotels, along with historic landmarks, events and attractions. It’s where the locals hang out and tourists want to spend time. Experience a unique festive-like atmosphere strolling through the mainly pedestrianised cobblestoned streets lined with street performers and entertainers.
